Terms and Conditions of Business (Tests)

Please arrive early for your driving test, if you are late your test may not go ahead and you will lose your fee.

You MUST bring the following with you to the driving test;

  • Your driving licence, if you have an old-style paper licence you will need to bring your signed driving licence along with a valid passport. If you do not bring your driving licence with you then the test will not go ahead and you will lose your fee.
  • Glasses or contacts if you require them for driving as you will be required to read a number plate at 20m. If you are unable to read a number plate at the required distance then your test will not go ahead and you will lose your fee.
  • A roadworthy vehicle that is taxed, insured and MOT’d (where necessary) as we do not supply vehicle for the test.

You should also be aware that;

  • The vehicle used should be either a vehicle owned by you, or a vehicle you are using with permission of the owner (as long as it is insured for you to drive, taxed, MOT’d and roadworthy).
  • Hire vehicles are acceptable if you declare to the hirer the purpose of its use and it is insured for the purpose of a driving test (our examiners reserve the right to check).
  • The vehicle should not be displaying any warning lights on the dashboard.
  • The vehicle must not be displaying trade plates or L plates.
  • You must bring a vehicle that is suitable for the assessment. Vans, car derived vans and convertibles are not accepted).
  • You can use a licensed taxi for the test so long as the vehicle is registered to you and you are attending the test because you have been asked to by your current authority or taking the test to be licensed for a new authority.
  • The vehicle must be smoke-free – this means you cannot smoke in it just before or during the test (if the smell of smoke is present in the vehicle, the test may not go ahead and you may lose your fee).
  • The vehicle must be in a reasonably clean condition inside for our examiners to sit.
  • If you do not attend the assessment, you will lose your fee.
  • We have a policy of not allowing any recording of the assessment (audio or visual). You can use a camera for insurance purposes as long as it is external facing and does not film the inside of the vehicle and does not record audio inside the vehicle. We reserve the right to terminate the assessment if you do not adhere to this.
  • Interpreters are not allowed on test as the test must be conducted in the English language.
  • You are allowed to bring someone on test with you, this may be your driving instructor. The passenger must an adult (over 18) and they must sit behind the examiner and play no part in the test.
  • Verbal or physical abuse towards our examiners will not be tolerated. The examiner will terminate an assessment where they feel threatened and you will not be entitled to a refund or to take another test with us. We may also report this behavior to the council you have applied to and to the police.
  • If you wish to cancel or change your test you must give at least 5 clear working days notice or you will lose your fee (your notice period cannot include weekends, the day of your assessment or the day you give us notice).
  • If you do not attend the test on the agreed date and time and location you will not be entitled to a refund. You will not be able to cancel or change your assessment if you do not give the required notice. This includes changing the location of your test.
  • If you agree to booking a short notice test then the 5 working day cancellation period will not apply and if you then change your mind, unfortunately you will not be able to amend or cancel your booking or be eligible for a refund.
